- Always handle your wig gently.
- Before shampooing, gently brush your wig with a detangling comb to ensure there are no knots or tangles before washing.
Shampooing Your Wig
Do not rub. Run your fingers over the inside of the cap where it meets your forehead to remove oils and sweat. Be particularly gentle on any hand-tied areas of the wig cap as this area is the most fragile. Rinse the shampoo out of the wig in cold clear water until thoroughly rinsed. Your wig can be rinsed in a basin of cold water or under cold running water. Blot the wig gently with a towel. Do not squeeze or wring.
Wash your wig regularly. Your wig should be washed after about 30 wears, or every four to six weeks.
Drying Your Wig
- Remove the majority of the moisture through blotting with a towel. Air dry your wig on a wig stand. Do not use a hairdryer and do not brush the wig while it is wet.
- Avoid contact with heat from boiling water, a preheated oven, curling iron, blow dryer, clothes dryer, open fires, and BBQ grill.
